And now for something entirely different.....

At Nationals, we, Team S.P.A.M. - 180, invited the others to drop off a team tee-shirt to our pit to be incorporated into a 1999 Quilt. We came home with 64!
THANK YOU!!!
We'll be sending out info soon to everyone who may not
have had an extra shirt with them, or didn't attend Nationals. A lot a folks went home with the address and
we met some of the most wonderful people anywhere.
If you were there, you couldn't miss the 1998 quilt.
It was the first thing I saw coming into the pit. Got goose bumps!
If you don't know the story, the first FIRST quilt is
made up of 121 tee shirts - 118 from 1998 teams plus 3
EPCOT shirts sent to us by the Disney-sponsored FIRST team. If you went to Kickoff, or the Kennedy wrap party or UTC regional, you saw it. It's spent more time on planes than I have this year. Should have saved those frequent flyer points!
Bernina of America, Fiskars, Waverly, and P&B Textiles
made contributions to the effort ... and now know about FIRST! They'll be getting more photos soon.
Ownership of the quilt went to FIRST place. We know it will have a great home.
AND we had an exceptional robot (top 16 through the first 5 rounds, 4 wins, 2 loses with 114 & 48 pts.
Someone sent a e-mail last fall asking if we could
do more than sew. yes, we can.
Again, thanks to everyone for a great weekend.
Mrs. Trax

Thank you team 180 for putting the great quilt togehter. It was a great a idea and a terrific job. I followed it last summer on the web and was excited to see the finished product. It symbolized a lot to me. Seeing all of the great competitors' shirts up there among our team's felt great. Thanks again. We're glad we brought an extra shirt to give you this year.
