Inventor 2008 FirstBase Tutorials
Hi! Has anyone got the online tutorial for Inventor 2008 called "Introduction" to work? I've installed Inventor 2008 and the "Datasets" but what exactly am I supposed to do from there?
Thanks a million, Anish |

Hi,
Sorry for not being specific. Quote:
Thanks, Anish P.S. Will it be necessary to upgrade to Inventor 2008 to use to 2008 KOP Inventor parts? |

Re: Inventor 2008 FirstBase Tutorials
If past years are anything to go by, this year's virtual KOP will be Inventor 2008 files. Assuming that is the case, you will need Inv 2008, or have somebody with Inv 2008 save them as STEP for use with earlier versions.

Hi!
Thanks for the information about the Inventor KOP! Have you tried using the FirstBase tutorials (especially the first one)? Thanks, Anish |

Introduction - this "step" gives you the button needed to download the data sets you'll need for the rest of the examples - but you don't really "do" anything yet. Then you need to work between the web browser window, select (for example) the next one down: "Autodesk Inventor and Robot Design" When that comes up, click the button that says START THE EXERCISE which will launch a "tutorial" window that you ought to be able to slide over next to the Inventor window. You'll proceed through the various exercises and work on the files that you downloaded in the Introduction. Inventor delivers a bunch of tutorials that you could do without downloading any of this stuff. From the main HELP menu, pick HELP TOPICS (it should be the first one down) then after the Inventor help page opens up about mid-way down the list pick TRY IT TUTORIALS This will open a new window with a listing of tutorials. Look at the section labeled: Basics and try starting with Creating a Part |
