Re: USB chicklet overheating
no, I can't see how it overheated unless you have it in an enclosed case of some sort

Re: USB chicklet overheating
I remember hearing Mike Copioli (designer of the chicklet) talking about this during the season. 99% likely the reason is that you are putting too much power into it. There isn't really any reason why it would overheat otherwise.

Re: USB chicklet overheating
It's best to use one of the 7.5 Volt "Back Up" batteries for this.

Re: USB chicklet overheating
Haven't seen the problem, but given that the Chicklet is an unprotected PCB, one of my thoughts is that you might have a short somewhere. Make sure there's no shavings or anything on the board anywhere, and make sure the board isn't touching any kind of metal. It might help to use an air compressor to blow off the board (small metal dust or shavings can be hard to spot).

wellllll thanks for all the help
ill describe it a little more... its been said here that maybe im putting too much power but doesnt it take 9V to power the board? i have a 9V pack connected to it, 6 AA batteries 1.5 each well yeah idk if overheating is the best word for it but when i connect the battery pack ill wait a few seconds like about 10 15 and the heat especifically comes from UNDER the header pins.... from nowhere else but there weird ? lol |
