NEW IR board?

Does anyone know where to buy a new IR board or a new 5v regulator?

Thanks

Re: NEW IR board?

LM78L05 regulators are about as standard as you can get. Just about any store you can find with a reasonable selection of electronic parts should have them. I'd try Radioshack, Fry's or your neighborhood electronics hobby shop.

Re: NEW IR board?

We have tried to program the IR board with no success. Tried multiple remotes..no go. The IR board error LED lights when we power up the board with the learn button pressed for 2 second and goes out when the button is released and the CMD0 LED comes on. Then pushing the 1 button on the remotes, nothing happens. Have tried at least a dozen different TV types using a Radio Shack Universal remote. Looked at the signals coming out of S1 the IR receiver IC and see good solid 5v to 0v transitions. The FIRST IR board must be bad (maybe static damage to the micro from handling). Where do we buy another board? Tried to email the designer Bob Grieb but it bounced.

Re: NEW IR board?

Have you tried using the volume or channel buttons on the remote? The 1 button usually only sends out a single signal, while the volume and channel buttons send out a repetitive signal. Also, as far as i know at the moment you cannot purchase these boards. Your only bet would be to contact FIRST.

Re: NEW IR board?

Yes, we have tried that. When the scope is hooked up we can see that for some TV codes, the numeric buttons send continuous signals while for other codes the data are sent once and then a different signal that looks like just a sync is sent repeatedly. Neither of these seem to work in the learn mode.

Re: NEW IR board?

Did you remember to send 2 teaching pulses for each button?

Re: NEW IR board?

As I understand it, you hold down the desired remote button until the CMD LED goes out then release the button, then when it light again push it again. The LED never goes out so we don't get to the second step.

Re: NEW IR board?

Have you tried any other remotes? I remember them saying that it may not be compatible with all remotes. Also, ambiant light could be causing interferance.

Re: NEW IR board?

Our IR card does not seem to be responding at all. When we try to power it up no lights come on. Has anyone else had this problem? Any Solutions?
Thanks

Re: NEW IR board?

We are having the same problem. We have tried 3 different batteries - 7.2 volt, 9 volt and 12 volt and don't get a response.

Re: NEW IR board?

We have the same problem - the error light flashed once, then nothing. How do we know whether pin 1 or pin 2 connects to the battery's positive or negative pole? Is it possible we burned it out (there was no smell)? If others are having similar problems, could the IR board be defective? If so, where do I go for a replacement? I assume I don't need the same model.
