: I haven't finished yet, but I've got a strong start on a team at UC Berkeley. Although, I may not be your best resource as I'm operating solely on instinct (I've never done this before either), things seem to be falling into place better than I could have ever expected.

Daniel,
Glad to hear it's working out. (See idea below....)

Everyone,
Would you be willing to jot down notes along the way and come up with sort of a
'Dummy's Guide to Starting a FIRST Team' - maybe add advice from others
with the same experience - post under 'White Papers'? Sponsorship, recruiting,
etc.
The ASME Guide has a lot of good information. But first-hand accounts
seem to be what a lot of people are asking for.
I'm going through the same thing, trying to get a local high school
interested and sponsored. So I can add the things that work here.
I know it's the end of the school year and a lot of you are probably very busy.
So...this could be a group effort. I volunteer to be the 'Ghost Writer'. If
you, or anyone else wants to get involved, send me an e-mail with their
ideas & experiences. Include your name & team number (optional).
This could also have a section on fundraising ideas, etc.
This could also be put up on a web page - any volunteers for the job of
webmaster out there?

MaryEllen
