RED "fork truck" robot breaks 6FT Rules in Animation
Does it appear to you guys that the Red fork truck robot broke the 6FT rule in the blue alliance home stretch in the game animation? Where are the PENALTY listings anyone able to find them?

I think you're right, Chris. After reading <G36>, I can't figure out how descoring is ever supposed to work. (I started a thread about it over here too... a little more general than your question, though I didn't see yours first.) As far as what a PENALTY is, that's covered in the definitions section.

when you begin you have to be 6ft. After you start height is unlimited. When you end you have to be 6ft again.

Re: RED "fork truck" robot breaks 6FT Rules in Animation
rewatch the video. The robot reaches from one side of the field to the other. I am presuming that the 6 foot rule applies so that you can not just stick up an arm and block. its all about subtitles. You have 6 seconds where you can block with no penalty. So, obviously this would play into a ZONE defense. I liked last years game better. More defensive opportunities.

Here is my thought about the rule.
My interpretation of the rule leads to that the rule applies only while your robot is physically SITTING in the opponents zone, not if you just reach into it. But that's just me. |

Re: RED "fork truck" robot breaks 6FT Rules in Animation
i think you cant be over 6ft after passing that last line in the red zone...till their finish line. That should be the home stretch like in racing. But after that line you can turn around and bump it off. That way you dont interrupt a last minute hurdle from going over

Re: RED "fork truck" robot breaks 6FT Rules in Animation
i have said this before in another threas so ill just copy and paste it
yea i was wondering this too, but worst comes to worst and the rule is correct, then u can just knock off the trackball from underneath since there is no plexiglass panel preventing it from being knocked off. This method could also be used to knock off your own trackballs during the hybrid period. It saves time becasue it does not require an arm or claw to extend up there and knock it off, all that u have to do would be attach an extending rod (piston) on top of ur bot and hit the trackball at an angle to knock it off. People may say however that this may interfere with the rules saying that it doesnt count if u pass the line before knocking it down. Well, the most u would go would be rite on the line, and technically, it cant be counted as u passed it because the ENTIRE robot has not passed the line as regulated and stated by the manual. This is what happens when u read the manual like 50 times. |
