The FIRST Infection....

Hey Guys and Gals,

My father just took a business trip to New Hampshire, and he noticed something very interesting. Everbody there seemed to have a child involved in the FIRST robotics competition. True, all these people were robotics engineers, but still...this is not something that can be found on the west coast. It's simply a lot more logical for little companies to sponsor a team that's competing localy. Not only that, but it's a lot more SANE to fund a team that's not spending all it's funds on travel. And lastly, teams are intimidated by the distance. Schools don't start teams because they're afraid of the logistics in taking the trip out.

Something needs to be done about this. FIRST likes to wait to hold an event until theres a demand for that event, but in my oppinion, the demand springs forth from the event itself. We need more west coast tournaments!

I don't know exactly what this would mean, or how this would be done...but that's why I'm writing here. Maybe we could think about this one together...

-Daniel

My dad also told me that all those robotics engineers were talking about Dean's new invention like it was....well....some sort of god! =)
