Go to Post So we are able to run a very competitive and active robotics program. Sustainability, alas, is a month-to-month issue for us and is dictated by the space situation. This is okay today. Tomorrow could be different. We live like this. - Clem1640 [more]

A Summer Event (or, 345 or 502 Horsepower, Take Yer Pick)

Engineer on team #65, The Huskie Brigade, from Pontiac Northern High School and GM Powertrain.

Hey everybody. Do you need more power???? Well, those crazy folks of the Huskie Brigade think you DO. We are raffling off two engines in a couple of weeks at the Woodward Dream Cruise here in Detroit.

Engine #1: a 345 hp Corvette engine, the legendary LS1, aluminum block & heads, fuel injected, includes all engine hardware.

Engine #2: a ZZ 502/502 crate engine from GM Performance Parts, otherwise known as the Rat, the king of the crate engines. 502 cubic inches, 502 hp, essentially a hand built set of parts, and hard to get too (we pulled a few strings for this one ). Would make a great boat, race car, or street engine.

Interested in winning one of these? Well, if you are, you need to buy a raffle ticket from us. You could come to our booths at the Dream Cruise on August 20 or 21. We will be located at the Pontiac display in Pontiac (Phoenix Center parking lot), and at the Chevy display in Birmingham (Woodward and 15.5 mile). Or, if you can't wait, send a check for $10 per ticket to the address below. Please specify which engine you want to buy a ticket for (its two separate raffles), and where you want the ticket stubs sent to. Make your check out to Pontiac Northern High School - FIRST Team. All proceeds go to the PNHS team.

(no, these engines will NOT be added to the kit of parts next year - something about too much noise with open exhausts...)

Thanks!
Ken

Address for buying tickets:
Ms. Marsha Cooper
Pontiac Northern High School
1051 Arlene St.
Pontiac, MI 48340
