Re: 2008 Motor Specs

Download JVN's 2008 Design Calculator. All motor specs are on there under the specs tab.

John points out that the specs have either been experimentally determined, or taken from the manufacturer.

I have yet to find specs of all these motors on the FIRST site.

Re: 2008 Motor Specs

Seconded w/r/t the Johnson 9015, and also, does anyone know for sure if the new Keyang is the same as the old, apart from the different connector housing, spline and shaft?

I already compared the current Tiagene (16640238) with an old one that was lying around; they did not share the same model number, so I assume the current Tiagene is a different model (however, I don't know which of the old Tiagenes this was, so it's possible that this motor was issued in the past).

As for the Keyang, there three models which are legal this year: 16627960 and 16627961, which are equivalent to last year's LH and RH Keyangs, and the new Keyang, 16631023. You're allowed one of either 16627960 or 16627961, and one 16630123. I'm wondering if they're internally identical (and therefore we can use the same data as before for design).

Re: 2008 Motor Specs

Where are you getting the Taigene specs from? I can't find anything on that or this new 9015 FP. Does anybody have a dyno lying around that they could test these motors on?

Re: 2008 Motor Specs

who has the motor specs??

fp 9015
the 2 small motors
rs 540
rs 550

I'm assuming the mini-bike motor listed in the good tips page is a mis-print.

Thanks in advance.

Re: 2008 Motor Specs

I was just in contact with a representative from F-P regarding the 00968-9015, and he says FIRST has been given the motor curves already. I'll ask FIRST if they're planning to release those now. If not, I will check with him tomorrow to see if he wouldn't mind sending it directly to me, so that I can post it here.

Re: 2008 Motor Specs

Is the 00968-9015 fisher price motor similar to previous motors? I know that the fisher price motors change from year to year, but would it be reasonable to look at the specs from previous year's motors to get a rough idea of whether the fisher price motors will be strong enough?

Thanks,
Travis
