The ChiefDelphi games are a great idea. They have done this locally for the past several years. It is a blast! And 7 days is NOT too short a time. It is not totally from scratch. Actually, until last year, the teams put together everything, including strategy in only 4 hours on the day of the tournament. Totally do-able. Last year, we received our stuff a week early in order to have more time for game strategy. This is an outstanding event, and has included about 24 high schools each year. It looks like they want to shift to a new level this year, and I'm all for it. These folks are incredibly well organized.

One of the best things about this tournament, which is not a re--play of the FIRST competitions in the spring, is that they help your team to learn to work together early in the year. It gives them serious practice at game strategy, and at competing under pressure. This is a wonderful opportunity to give teams, kids and engineers alike a chance to work together early enough to work out kinks, and have a great time doing it.

The game level and strategies needed are comparable to FIRST competitions, meaning they are a good stiff competition. They truly do a great job with this, people. Please think seriously about joining in this competition. You'll be back again next year!!
