Is this Legal?
Our team was thinking about having an arm that extends over the ball and grabs it. After this it picks the ball up; we move forward then drop the ball. If during this sequence part of our arm crosses the line and we then go backwards does that count as a penalty on us? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Is this Legal?
This is legal, as of this afternoon. The robot counts as past the line(point of no return) when every part of the robot is over the line. So you can stick your arm over the overpass, drop the ball, and you wouldn't have counted as passed the line.
![]() EDIT:wait, are you talking about going under the overpass? If so, you must not be touching the ball at all when all of the ball passes the line. Last edited by BenjyPoore : 07-01-2008 at 19:28. Reason: second thought |
