What is a Great Lakes Spy Video worth?

What do folks think about this idea I have been kicking around for a few years?

If we could get enough teams interested in signing up to have a no-nonsense scouting video of the Michigan regional, I think that I could find a professional video company to shoot the matches, duplicate the tapes and mail them out.

The idea would be to have a complete video showing match after match after match, perhaps even a completed scoring chart could be included.

This would be a no-nonsense affair. No production value. There would be no editing except that the camera would be shut off between rounds.

The ypsi venue would allow a pretty good bird's eye view shot.

I checked into this a while back. I don't recall, but I think that the camera crew was something like $1000 for two days of shooting. The duplication was something like $10 per tape. I think it would take 2 tapes at Standard VHS format to hold a whole competition. Shipping was about $15.

Roughly speaking, with 20 teams interested in this think it would cost about $85 per team to cover all the costs ($50 for the crew, $20 for the tapes, $15 for shipping).

So...

How much interest is there in this sort of thing at those prices?

Joe J.

P.S. I would love to be able to get similar offers from local teams going to other regionals that we are not going to. Anybody willing to take this on?
