No Can Do--
A Ball is not hudled until it crosses over the overpass, crossing the finish line in the process, and then touches the ground or another robot before recontacting the hurdling robot. If you never let go, you never hurdle the overpass.

This is pretty clealy stated- look under the Hurdling Definition in the Game Description
