Re: AMPs for RC and Compressor

The RC is dynamic but the internals are voltage regulated and will shut down if the regulator is asked to supply more than 1.5 amps. However, the RC is the most critical component on the robot. Insure that power is connected to a point near the battery in you design and at a point where high current will not lower the voltage to the RC during match play. The RC will suspend operation when the voltage falls below 8 volts for a short period of time. During this time, the RC is powered by the backup but all outputs are inhibited.
The compressor start current is 25 amps while it's run current is between 10 and 12 amps. Due to the high start current for the this Spike only, electrical rules allow you to change the 20 amp fuse in the Spike to a 20 amp circuit breaker. Do it now so you won't forget. The fuse will burn open eventually.
