How to inflate trackball?

I was wondering if there was a way to inflate the trackball using parts included in the KOP.

You can check out section 10.2.8.1 Trackball Inflation in the FIRST manual. Here is a direct link to download that section: Section 10 - The Kit of Parts.

It's at the very bottom of the Kit of Parts list.

Re: How to inflate trackball?

You should be forewarned that inflating the whole trackball with just the KOP compressor takes a long time, probably 15 or 20 minutes. Our team got impatient and wired 4 compressors from previous years' kits together in parallel off a robot battery. We connected the output nozzles together with tubing and T-fittings to get the equivalent of 4x the rate of compressed air.

all that work propbly took longer then it would have to wait for the ball to blow up

Equally effective is connecting 4 freshman in parallel (You can try to connect them in series but they probably won't appreciate it).

Re: How to inflate trackball?

Yes, KOP compressors are not very time effective. Sad part was, our mentor kept telling them he has a compressor in the other room, but they insisted on sitting there, waiting.

Also, I never thought about the four freshmen idea. Good thing to know...
