Could you let us know what the competition will be like and what we should expect?

Any suggestions for mastering the controls of the robot/programming the controls?

Again this year Chief Delphi will be hosting a Rookie Camp at the kick off. This year we are planning for it to be on Friday (opposite the animation workshop, no conflict as rumor has it that there will be two levels of workshops).

There will be a follow up workshop after the kits are given out where several famous teams will be there to answer questions and give advice to the rookies.

Also post your specific questions here and you will get some answers from many great teams that monitor this site.

We are here to help.

Have you seen tapes of the previous competitions? Our rookie year we found referencing to the tapes a great help( after getting over the shock of who and what was competing)
Also, GET SOMETHING RUNNING! We made a square frame with a Sheppard casters in the back and drill motors driving the front wheels with jury rigged chain drives. We clamped on a plywood deck to hold controls and weights and were running in a few days. This will allow you to become more familier with controls, drives, and, most important, start driver training. After your rookie year you throw the controls on last years machine and start practicing the first day.
