With the appropriate control of motor speed and direction, a mecanum drivebase will turn on a dime and give you nine cents change. No skips. No hops. No skids. Just smooth turning, as fast as you want. Sometimes faster, if you're not careful.

As for speed, it's all about gear ratios. You'll trade away torque if you want speed, just as with any scheme.

but i want to know is how fast can you get off at the start, accleration...
