If I recall correctly, some of the sprockets provided in previous year kits were custom ordered for FIRST and are not COTS components. That would mean those parts cannot be used on 2008 FRC robots.
Similarly, the 22T sprockets provided in the 2008 kit may have also been custom ordered for FIRST. If so then they are not COTS components, and may only be used in the quantities provided in the kit (2 per team).
COTS status of the 2008 kit sprockets needs to be confirmed. I don't recall seeing this question on the
official Q&A yet this year.
