so our team started assembling our robot yesterday, this is what it looks like:

I guess you guys drilled and tapped gearbox mounts yourself into the extrusion piece? We did the same thing.

Those lexan plates on the Toughboxes are very easily cracked.

I would bump them up to be aluminum especially with a 2 motor setup.

I'm not saying you have to, but check those plates often, especially with the torque you are going to be putting on that system.

Only time will tell whether or not the lexan "fails" in that system, but we're not taking any chances and remaking them in aluminum.

One of my students accidently cracked the LEXAN when he was installing a motor, he had the bearing backwards (Flange facing out) and it caused the motor to be crooked as he tightened it on and the crack started at the mounting hole. Any one using the Toughbox needs to be checking those plates reguarly.

Thanks for pointing that out! We'll definitely have to watch those lexan plates when we start testing.
