Linear actuators

We purchased linear actuators and hadn't read the rules thoroughly enough. So if we take off the supplied motors and attach the motors provided in the KOP, is it legal?

Re: Linear actuators

I believe that is allowed assuming that the actuator requires no other electrical input.

Re: Linear actuators

One of the recent posts by the GDC in Q&A specifically allowed fabricated linear actuators. Specifically, this one.

Re: Linear actuators

funny thing is, that was me. I hadn't checked if I ever got a reply. But does it mean that a purchased actuator, running off a KOP motor is not allowed, since the team did not assemble the actual actuator?

I wouldn't know. Back to the Q&A with you!

Also, consider this a lesson learned: read the rules thoroughly before buying parts. Especially if you have to build your own actuator.
