Re: To all gearheads
Ahhhh!!!
All these cool race type events that people in CT are involved in! The only thing I've ever done is indoor Karting, and outdoor AutoX type events (with a full size electric car mind you.. ) Anywho, where are these races held that are in the pics? |

Re: To all gearheads
dude i live for robotics and cars. I'm only 16 but i get my license on April 1,2008 i can not wait to finally drive my camaroZ28 , ive rebuilt that engine with my dad.
The First one is a 1986 Camaro Z28 w/ 305 four-barrel carburetor, it needs some TLC, such as new audio components, front suspension, and i want to throw some goods on it too such as a new carb and intake manifold(not sure what size), posi with disk brakes. The second one,the red one, is my dad's 1984 Firebird Trans Am, same engine as the camaro except the car only has 49,000 original miles. Manual tranny and thats about it. My aunt said if i want i can restore her her 1971 Dodge Challenger. It doesn't have a Hemi, but im easy to please. Ill post pics if i ever get them I love F-bodies... thats all i can say, even though my dad's daily driver is 2003 Mustang with a V6 |

Re: To all gearheads
A ton of guys at my school drive Camaros, but my family is all about the blue oval. Not bashing GM or Dodge, but I think that the Mustangs ability to of been introduced in 1964 and then still in 2008 being sold, ever being discontinued. Even thought the gas shortages in the 1970s. But they are still being made even today over 40 years down the road. I'm not saying all Mustangs are great cause there where some really bad Mustangs out there.

Re: To all gearheads
I've only done bodywork (on a family friend's car after they hit something at low speed, just needed to replace the bumper and fender, no biggie), but I'll be getting my own car soon and I will probably work on that.
For any curious, it's a 2004 Ford Escape, white/grey (this is not it but it's the same car) http://www.danitrue.com/images/escape.jpg Mine's got the V6 instead of the I4, but it's the entry model V6 so no foglights, leather, etc. It's just all truck. EDIT: Oh, forgot to mention that I've debadged it and taken off the pinstripes, too. I wasn't fond of them, so they came off. Front badge is still on, though. I might replace the grille with an aftermarket metal one if I can find one that doesn't annoy me (which is most of them =p) EDIT Again: I'm also more fond of the "Pacific muscle" and European cars, stuff like Audis, Nissans, etc. I was going to get a Porsche 914 until my sister got in a car accident (914 has no airbags or crumple zones). I'm thinking that when I have enough money I'll look into trading the Escape + some dosh in for a '03 Audi A4. Last edited by Otaku : 24-01-2008 at 19:23. |

Re: To all gearheads
Like those fully pimped escalades with superchargers that can do a 1/4mi in 11secs? and weigh umpteenmillion pounds? =p
I like handling. But if I didn't, I totally would. Nobody would see it coming. The small SUV of death. Mwhahaha. The Escape handles decently for it's automobile class and size. takes 45mph turns at ~60 (or it can at least). =p |

Re: To all gearheads
Here’s my rig, I’m obsessed with it, it’s a 4.7L dodge Dakota 2wd, 12bolt 9.25rear, auto 45rfe
It used to be fast back when it was on the 29’s. Stock (with spare tire all the crap on it, box with subs, my friend and I, and ¾ tank of gas at around 100degrees out) it ran a decent 10.56@67.1 1/8 and 16.32@82.3 1/4 at firebird. Before I lifted it, I put a cutout (behind cats) and the shift kit in and I could chirp 1-2 shift all day and burn rubber at speed and it was a blast to drive. I never got to run it at the track like this I would have expected it to break into the 15’s. Recently, I realized it is a truck and I use it as one so instead of making it into a street truck, I made it off-road to explore all the goodies Arizona has to offer. I’ve installed a shift kit, locker, exhaust cutout, train horn, and a suspension lift (upper control arms, balljoints, springs shackles, yada yada yada….) And I tucked some 265/75/16 bfg mud terrains in there I like the skinny tire offroad look inspired by unimogs and pinzgauers. I plan to put some skid plates on after the season is over and in the future install and mpi LPG bi fuel conversion in the future...... Well here are some pics of my baby ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Nick02 : 25-01-2008 at 00:16. |

Re: To all gearheads
haha, nice,
it always makes me angry to see a pickup truck lowered. I realize it does take alot of work, but still. It's defeating the purpose of owning a truck. now lifting it on the other hand + =devilish grin |
