So Brandon care to chime in on exactly how you are getting one of these icons to appear on the iPhone?

I've voted, but it appears that my fav #19 won't be winning!

No matter what one wins it will look fantastic on my iPhone which is now resting comfortably in my newly remodeled case

When you bookmark a website, if you click the 'Add to Homescreen' option it will add the website to the homescreen.

If the website does not have a specified icon, it will just use a mini-screenshot of the web page for the icon. If the website does have an iPhone/iPod Touch icon (they are the same thing), it will use that.

Of course, whatever the iPhone/iPod Touch uses for an icon will automatically be rounded off and given the glossy overlay.

Only one issue I see is that it is a black icon. It will probably need some kind of border around it similar to the calculator icon to make it visible on the black background.


I understand that, but where does it pull that icon from?

I assume it is buried in the html code, if so what is that code?
