Re: St. Louis Regional (FRC)

Team 1986 will not be there this year, but we would like to wish everyone good luck, especially rookie teams. St. Louis has a reputation for being an extremely challenging regional, so look out for some stellar veteran teams and rookie teams alike.

Emphasis mine. Challenging = good.

Only four weeks until the 2008 St. Louis Regional! The field of 45 teams now represents twelve states:

16 from Missouri
9 from Michigan
8 from Indiana
3 from Illinois
2 from Alabama
and one each from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. This field spans the country from border to border.

I won't recite them here, but a glance at the list shows several teams with strong records of competitive success and awards at past FRC events.

41 veteran and 4 rookie teams can look forward to a great time, a very high standard of game play, and an even higher standard of gracious professionalism. If you are returning, or if this will be your first time in St. Louis, we're glad you are coming and we want you to have a blast. I'll be the guy with FTA on his back -- please say hello and tell me where you're from.

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.

Make that two from Iowa -- the latest list shows that St. Louis regional veterans 525 and 967 are both returning, so the field is up to 46 teams.
