Question Need Help

I have a problem with the default user code for EasyC Pro, the problem is that when i Build & Download the code onto the Robot Controller i plug the Victors PWM, into Digital In/Out port 1 and the other victor's PWM into Digital In/Out port 2 i try to control the robot with the joystick and the PWM light on the Operator Interface turns green if the joystick is moved forward and red if backwards but the main drive motors do not run and the victors LED keep flashing Yellow but if i plug the PWM into the PWM output the motor constantly runs without the LED on and the spike relays work on the relay outputs please help.
