Re: festo solanoid
Did you wrap with teflon all the pneumatics connections?
We first didn't, and we had lots of air leaks, now after wraping with teflon there are minimal air leaks (nothing's ideal). |

Re: festo solanoid
Try blocking the exhaust port with a finger or loopback until your pneumatics system gains > 30psi.
The Festo pilot valve may be starting in a halfway or neutral state left over from the factory. The pilot valve requires a minimum of 30psi to shift properly and should normally be left in the home position where it automatically returns when powered down. Re: festo solanoid
What we usually do is get a cup fill it with soapy water and get a small brush and brush the water on every fitting and connection where air might leak. This should help you find the leaks, it also might be the control valve that keeps the system from firing hire than 60 psi you might of hooked it up wrong.

yea do this the festo valves are made to be open at all times in ne position and only shift once power is supplied. It needs thirty PSI to do this though. so tie a really tight knot in two pieces of tubing. Plug those into the 2 and 4 ports on the festo valve plug your supply into one and leave three empty (exaust) then just let the pressure get above thirty then you will be able to shift. -jared |

Re: festo solanoid
The compression fittings for tube insertion on the Festo valves need fairly straight tubing cuts. If you don't cut it straight, or you make 2 cuts to cut through the tubing, it'll leave enough of a gap when the tubing bottoms out in the compression fitting to leave an air path. Check your tubing to make sure that the cuts are good, if not cut it back a little and retry.
