Fisher Price Gearboxes

What are some small gearboxes that you can add to a fisher price? How do you interface a banebot planetary to a fisherprice and which one would you use? thanx

Re: Fisher Price Gearboxes

To interface the banebots planatery to a FP motor you just press on the appropriate pinion (sold by banebots) and bolt the motor into the gearbox.

For the FP motor, I'd stick to the 42mm gearboxes and stick the 108:1 ratio or less. According to Joe Johnson's calculations and my personal experience, a ratio of 140ish:1 or more is asking for trouble. Some teams have had no problems with the 256:1s, but I'd play it safe and use the lower reductions.

Re: Fisher Price Gearboxes

What is the gear ratio in the fisher price gearbox if the final reduction is not used?

Re: Fisher Price Gearboxes

Count the teeth on the final stage to determine its ratio. The final ratio will be 124:1 divided by that.

Re: Fisher Price Gearboxes

Is it possible to easily attach the fisher price motor to the 25:1, 36mm Planetary Gearmotor, RS-545 Motor? Would there be any problems with this configuration?

In that low of a ratio, the 36mm probably won't be a problem.... But I'd personally go to the 42mm 27:1 just because It is much beefier and more durable.

Also, yes it is possible and easy. Just press the appropriate pinion on, and the correct bolt pattern is already there.
