Re: Need help with Wiring

8.3.6
section<R47>
in the robot manual
also use the biggest wire you can spare for everything. Trust me it will work so much better.
I used 6awg for power distribution and 10 12 and 18 for everything else. More amps bigger wire.
smaller the awg number the bigger the wire.
hope that helps

Re: Need help with Wiring

The answer is: it depends. Read the sections in the rules to found out the legal requirements. To save some time, this is the breakdown:
Main power distro (battery to main breaker, main breaker to distro block, distro block to circuit breaker blocks): 6AWG or larger
Circuits powered by 40A breakers: 12AWG or larger (my team prefers to use 10AWG on our robots)
Circuits powered by a 30A breaker: 14AWG or larger
Circuits powered by a 20A breaker: 18AWG or larger
Pneumatic solenoid valves: 24AWG or larger

Re: Need help with Wiring

So is there any limits on the gauge of wire you can use on certain parts?

Re: Need help with Wiring

lukevanoort just posted what was inthe manual so you dont have too look now. the only thing you cant do is go smaller that the ones in the manual. But if you go too big you might not be able to find correct connectors
