No, they're a second-year team. Rookies have team numbers 2330 and up.

Re: 2080 Electrical

We had them last year, they worked, with a few hitches that we over came.
Though this year it is a little more touchy. But it is a little to late for us to change i feel.

But thanks for the compliment

Re: 2080 Electrical

Beautiful,

We considered a folding box during the pre-season, but ultimately realized that although a box could fit in the robot well, it would be a pain to service if every fix required the detachment of cables, removal of the box, unfolding of the box, then eventual re-folding and re-attachment of cables.

Instead we have a drop-out plate - It takes up more space but I do believe it's easier to service.

I still love the diversity different teams come up with in design. As soon as I uncrate the robot at a regional, I always take a walk around the pits to see what the other teams came up with!

Re: 2080 Electrical

I like the design. It looks very simple and very effective.

Have you ever tried Anderson Powerpole products? They are perfect for what you want to do instead of that bundle of yellow connectors. They are even easier to disconnect and reconnect. HERE is a link to the website and you can get them at Allied if you want.

Trust me when I say this, they will bring new meaning to "modular/removable" in modular/removable control panels.

Pavan.

After Wednesday's opportunity to see the little surprises that you guys have cooked up for this season, all I can say is "no kidding!"

Re: 2080 Electrical

the one thing i could see that would get annoying with the way it is setup is the rc is NOT in the box... when you take the box out you need to unplug all your PWM signal cables and those are a pain to reconnect and see where they are going every time you want to remove the box.

Just a thought but is it possible to get your RC in there?? i think it prob would just make things easier in the long run...
Just an opinion though

Re: 2080 Electrical

That sure is pretty. One comment: it is recommended by IFI to mount the radio modem vertically for best performance, and I seem to recall the inspectors asking us to reorient ours last year.
