it would seem, since the winch only spins one direction that a ratchet type mechanism on the motor side of the release gear/dog would keep the system from back driving.
EDIT: after examining the video for like 10 minutes i can see the entire thing, the motor has a ratchet, the pneumatic engages and disengages a crown gear that transfers power between the motor and the winch shaft. done! Last edited by roboticWanderor : 09-02-2008 at 23:59. |
