It says to ship the Battery In it's original box... Well the batteries we got Came with the Kit... Without the original box. Is it okay to just ship it without the box and just make the inner box?

First, you do not have to ship the batteries with the robot. (Good option, if you are fairly close to the event or you only have one event.) Second, as regards making a box, see this Q&A. Third, what do you mean by "ship it without the box and just make the inner box"? |

Re: Battery?
If you include batteries, you must:
Ship them inside their original box or carton packaging. Use the Styrofoam covering with protective caps to cover the battery terminals. Secure the boxed batteries inside the “inner battery box” section of the robot crate in an upright position. The photograph below shows a sample of an inner battery box built to comply with regulations. Remember to label this box…see below. That is The directions in 4.2 of the manual... The first Bullet (or box as it showed up there) says ""Ship them inside their original box or carton packaging."" No clue if I'm making sense yet... fifteen things going on right now!!!!!! |

Do the batteries count towards our 25ish weight limit that we are allowed to bring with us to the event? |

Re: Battery?
They aren't fabricated items, so no. They're COTS, which means unlimited amounts.

Re: Battery?
You build a box out of plywood in the corner of your crate. Into this box you put the batteries, packaged in their original cardboard. Then you screw the top onto the plywood box. Insert robot, close lid, attach shipping papers - you're good to go!
Or you can plop the batteries in the back of someone's car (without letting them wander around the trunk) and have them with you when you pull up into the parking lot of the venue. If you've been planning ahead, you might have even charged them up the night before - something you can't do when they're inside the crate. |

Re: Battery?
Or more likely, someone in their zeal to find all the shiny new kit parts opened the box and tossed it. It has been known to happen. Not that I've had this experience personally - oh wait, yes I have.

So is it definate that we can transport the batteries in a Team Vehicle? Is it mandatory to ship them with the robot?
