Balls on the rack

At the start of the game, the balls are randomly placed AFTER the robots are set in their respective places, correct? Are we allowed to change something on our control board (joysticks and such) after the ball randomization is complete? Thanks!

Re: Balls on the rack

nope the only way to get access to the robot after rotating the balls is by the robocoaches remote after hybrid starts.

It must be touching the back wall, however.
And back to the original question: One of the team updates stated that you cannot touch the Operator Interface after the robots have been positioned. Also, the Rack is from last year. This year, we have an Overpass.

yes you place the robot on the field before the refs place the balls.
and word of caution: if you are just going to drive straight and knock down the ball theres going to be a ball of both colors on one side.

Re: Balls on the rack

you guys missed the point. He's asking about the control board, not the robot directly. For this, I don't remember any rule against it but I could be wrong.

No, once the robots are in place and the FMS selects the trackball position, no adjustments of the robot or operator controls are allowed. See Update #8

Quote:
Rule <G20>
TRACKBALL Locations - After all ROBOTS participating in the MATCH are in their starting positions and the TEAM members are behind the Players Line in the ALLIANCE ZONE and/or ROBOCOACH STATIONS, four TRACKBALLS will be placed on the OVERPASS. On each side of the OVERPASS there are three TARGET LOCATIONS for TRACKBALLS. The field management system will randomly choose an initial starting location for the TRACKBALLS before the start of each MATCH. One red and one blue TRACKBALL will then be positioned in the chosen TARGET LOCATIONS on each side of the OVERPASS. After this point in time no ROBOT or OPERATOR CONSOLE may be adjusted or repositioned until the MATCH starts.
