Very cool robot.

Based on your performance at the UTC scrimmage and on the pictures, I expect great things from the RAGE in 2000.

Quite honestly the RAGE robot is well into my list of top 5 robots costing me excessive sleep loss.

Ah well, plenty of time to sleep during the summer months ;-)

Joe J.

Well, it seems like RAGE here is a lot of talk. I wouldn't lose that much sleep Joe. Let's wait until the regionals and see what fairs.

In fact, something should be pointed out...that RAGE only won the last match of the UTC Scrimmage by 1 point (before multiplication of the qualifying points).

It should also be noted that the 'bot they won over (The ENFORCER from FHS/Otis) didn't have pole hanging capabilites at that time and now does.

So, please take this message as a reality-check and an invite to many matches of friendly competition.

Here is a picture of THE ENFORCER

If you think that RAGE came into that scrimmage with weeks of practice, a fully operational robot, and a strategy, you should wake up. We used this opertunity as a practice. None of the drivers had touched the controlls until that night. Instead of having only two drivers, we used the time as a tryout. We let everybody that wanted to, drive, no matter what their skill level was. Also, the first three matches we played in, we had a communication problem with the competition ports, if we had been up and running then, we would have probably won and added another 20+ points to our score. We 2 wern't finished with our robot, we hadn't had the limit switches on, nor did we run in high gear.

So if you take that scrimmage as a scouting report of RAGE, you'll be very suprised to see us when we are all set.

Steve Prairie
RAGE Team #173

P.S. Almost every match we were in, we competed 1 aginst 2.

And we did push OTIS off the ramp, so it didn't matter if they could hang or not then.

So we'll just hafta wait untill the regionals...

One thing that many of us have learned (including Joe J.), many things can happen in competition. Talking now will only come back to bite you in the end. You guys being fellow UTC you should be helping each other, not trying to convince the other that your robot is better. I think you’ll both be contenders, as we’ve seen in the past. Time will tell.

See you guys in Hartford

Jake

I must agree. From the scrimage it seems that we both, as well as many other teams have robots that will be big contenders. Working with a team like OTIS, would be very helpful and fun in this years competition. I hope to see OTIS as well as everyone else in Hartford and in Florida.

P.S. Thanks Jake, (I'm getting too attached to my 'bot!)

I agree, I was only offering my insight to give the assertation a little more dimension. We were in the same boat with an undetermined set of drivers until after the scrimmage as well.

I agree and hope that in future competitions we will have the opportunity to work together, especially being the fact that we are of UTC family. As you know, the Otis/FHS team has always tried to bring together UTC teams at the events to make our impact on FIRST even greater.

Last year, we had the honor of competiting with the UTC Pratt and Hartford High team at the Nationals in FL. We were a great compliment for them and it served to facilitate a good relationship between us.

So please do not get the impression that I am putting anyone down. However, in everything we do in life it is rewarding and essential that everyone has an accurate vision of how they stand or compare in the eyes of others.

That is all for now.
-Eric

Who, may i ask, are these 5 robots that you fear most Dr. J. If they are causing you sleep loss, I can only imagine how interesting this competition is going to be...
