Program PIC with Basic Stamp

I have a parallax BASIC Stamp programmer and intend on using it to fix our IR board by using it as the programming interface. However I do not have experience with using this particular STAMP Board to do it. I would like to know how to use the Stamp Board to connect to the ICSP header and reprogram it. What is the best way to do this? I have MPLab and can download other necessary programs if I need to.

Thanks,
Stephen

Re: Program PIC with Basic Stamp

What exactly are you trying to do? Are you using the Stamp processor to program the PIC or are you using the board as the programmer and translating the Stamp program lines to PIC program lines? I use Atmel, but I'm pretty sure ISP headers for Microchip are standardized. Look for data sheets from Microchip.

Re: Program PIC with Basic Stamp

I'm using the Parallax Programmer for Stamp chips in order to put Bob Grieb's Hex code on to the PIC. I need to know how to set it up such that the ICSP on the IR board's PIC can be put into a programming state and have the hex code go over.

Re: Program PIC with Basic Stamp

Again, I use Atmel, but I would suggest reading the data sheet for the PIC on the IR board. It should include an interface section that should list the standard ISP header pin out and state changes.

Re: Program PIC with Basic Stamp

I already know what pins I need to connect to on the PIC, I just need to know how to interface those pins on the Stamp programmer board so that I can send code to the PIC.
