We sure aren't...
we aren't either but we will play the game "see how quickly we can crate the robot and drive it to drayage without it falling out of the back of the truck"

Our robot was ready for ship like 3 days ago. But you know we had to get some drive time in before we shipped.

Re: Who is ready for their Robot Shipment???

So, I think all the hardware on the robot is done... which is good. Somehow that always happens, but then on my side, the electronics/software, gets pushed all the way off until its too late!
We need to finish the OI at St. Louis, and we need to hook all of our sensors up and program our hybrid modes there too. Meh.

Re: Who is ready for their Robot Shipment???

2106 put Lucky in the box this evening. She hates being in pieces and cooped up in wood this way. She wants to stretch her legs at VCU pretty badly. Personally, we need a few weeks apart. I'm tired of seeing her more than my wife. This time apart will be good for our relationship.

Re: Who is ready for their Robot Shipment???

Let's see ...

9:45 pm ... still 1 pound overweight ... we decided to change the back wheels an hour ago ... programming has to change the autonomous mode (because of the change to the wheels) ...

Yep, right on schedule!

best regards,

Steve

Re: Who is ready for their Robot Shipment???

Well, for the first time in team history, we actually got some significant drive time practice in today. Pretty amazing considering we were a regional finalist two years ago and a winner last year! The arm works great; hurdles like a dream, can place the ball on the rack and push it off. Some minor stuff to do like putting on team numbers, and we'll work more on our autonomous modes with the frame from last year's bot after ship.

Can't wait for CT!!!

^Kudos 558!

We have a todo list:

*add lights
*add sonar
*fix starting position
*add weight

we are 10 pounds underweight X=
Lightning will have no lightening holes when he goes into the crate

Re: Who is ready for their Robot Shipment???

Yeah, we have to add weight too. Forgot that one. Beat's last year, when we were drilling holes in the frame praying we would get under the weight limit. Uberbots, not sure what more you guys have to do; your bot was awesome at the Suffield Shakedown (we had a team scouting the webcast while others built). I can only hope we're lucky enough to play with you guys again this year! You and the Gaelhawks (who we can't thank enough for loaning us the services of two of their mentors, who have been with us tirelessly every Wed. and Sat.) were an unstoppable hurtling duo.

Thanks!

trust me, we have loads to do... our robot may be powerful at hurdling, but unfortunately it is also equally powerful at breaking rules (namely the 80" boundary and the starting confines), so we have to fix that. We also have a few mechanical errors that actually hinder our hurdling ability, and we need to add sensors to knock stuff off during hybrid. So... we still do have more to do
