I believe that the criteria for tubing would be this, not going over 120 psi in general. If your psi is going to be 175, then you have something else you need to fix, not the tubing. Do you have safety switches installed?

On second thought, if this is scrap tubing needed for a project outside of competition, then I really have no idea.

We are saying that the tubing that come in this years KOP is illegal due to the this post on the Q&A.

No. Any additional tubing used on the Robot must satisfy Rule <R87> and be functionally identical to the tubing provided in the Kit Of Parts. 175 psi tubing would not satisfy this criteria. Furthermore, heat treating the tubing will alter the physical characteristics of the tubing, and again make it dissimilar from the tubing provided in the Kit. Coiled tubing rated for 125psi that is functionally identical to the tubing provided in the Kit Of Parts is available from several commercial sources.

The tubing that came in the this year KOP is rated at 175psi, we are not saying that we are running at that.

So the question is can we use it?

It sounds like either you or somebody on the GDC is a little confused about what pressure the tubing in the kit is rated for.

We posted that with this year KOP tubing in hand and read the rating off of it.

Then it's the GDC that is confused. While the answer about coiling your own tubing should still stand, the rest of that Q&A needs to be revised. I would recommend submitting a follow-up question so they can clarify.

I posted a clarification question on the Q&A yesterday when I saw that Q&A post. So check back on the pneumatics Q&A forum soon and a clarification should be there.

I just looked at the Q&A post again, and they corrected it. They removed the sentance that said that the "175 psi tubing does not meet the criteria." But my post should still be clarified soon...I hope.

if you read freelin-wades's rating of 175, i bet you can pump that up to around 250ish... just for safety they have to crank it down.
