Anyone Else Sore Today?

Hello All;

Having carried a 127.5# bot onto and off the field 13 times in NJ, my arms
and back are very sore. Anyone else feel the same?

So here's where I need you help - next year, we all need to insist that
FIRST provide a floor level access gate, or else they need to hire a bunch
of WWF performers to help bring the robots onto the field (which would
certainly improve the general public's perception of FIRST, actually :-)).

Perhaps if we pin Dean down with our robots (for no more than 5 seconds, mind you),
we can persaude them to give our sore bodies a break...or we turn them in to OSHA.

Tom Frank

My shoulders were pretty sore after the GLR. I really think FIRST should disign at least 2 gates into the playing field (one on the entrance side and one on the exit side). I'm actually surprised no one has severely hurt themselves from tripping over the field barrier while carrying the robot. I know I've come close a couple of times.

Like Chris, I'm surprised no one (at least that I've seen!) has tripped over the railing yet while carrying a robot. But at least we've found the answer to sore coach backs this year - all student teams on the field! I was delighted to see at Rutgers how common this has become by now. I don't think anything in the FIRST experience compares to coming through the high and the intensity of those 2 minutes in the players' station. For the kids to do that on their own is just the max, in my book.
