Hi all,

I just did a bunch of screen shots of the rankings from the Western Regional.

I will attach the 1-9 ranking screen shot.

Follow the link below to see the rest of them.

Joe J.

P.S. Sorry about the lousy quality of the pictures. My cable does not get in NASA TV very well. Sorry.

Greg Hale just announced that Team 253 declined because their robot was in pieces.

Solves that puzzle.

Team 253 Mills HS declined Team 255 Foothill HS's offer for alliance because our robot had suffered considerable damage from the qualifying rounds, causing failure to our drive system and hooking mechanism. We would rather let another team have a chance to compete in the finals than us be a burden to our alliance. Thanks to all the teams who helped us out, and especially to team 255.

Team 157, Assabet Valley, declined the 5th or 6th's seed invitation. They Decided to wait until they got to pick(7th seed)and by all means it was a good decision, they picked Clinton/Nypro(126) and went into the semi finals and almost pulled that one off. I could tell when they got picked that they were going to decline because you know when you get picked your team usually gets up and cheers and their team didn't. They had a very good robot but the place definately were kinda shocked by someone declining but if I knew I was going to be in the top 8 and I had a robot that I knew was going to be there when we picked I'd decline too if the robot that picked us wouldn't complement our robot well.

in the second semi match, a wire broke off of our drill motor on our base. it was
fixed in time for the next match, however it had already been decided that the
backup robot would sub in for us. it didn't function too well, and we lost. very
disappointed team member here...

our team won the best play of the day award, and a very special award from
NASA in the opening ceremonies of the first day of qualifying rounds the 'Daryl
Rasmussen Contribution Award For Outstanding Efforts in Recruiting and
Helping Other Schools in the FIRST/NASA Robotics Program.'

Team 64 did an incredible job. thank you for picking us!

Well, it was a tough regional for good ol' team 483 but we finally got our robot working one match before finals. We thought it was over. Somebody saw us.

So, there we were a first round draft pick with teams 452 and 473 (thanks for picking us by the way!!). And who would we be up against but...my old team GRT #192, the ever so lovable battering ram on wheels. Tough to swollow that one, when only a few minutes before I'd been thinking...'I'll bet we'll be up against GRT in the very first round if we get picked'. And this was me thinking about our worst case scenario. GRT had some amazing defensive rounds and their partners #64 were just straight amazing (watch out, east coast!)

So, I'll say now that I've been humbled by my own team and hope to get over this whole ordeal as soon as possible.

Anyway, don't count us out for florida! Primates are just more difficult to control without practice cuz they've got opposible thumbs =P

Stop by the #483 pit if you guys get a chance...and GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

-Daniel
