I'd think that the pits would be split in half in this case. 50% left side, 50% right side.

A split pit area is going to make one heck of a traffic jam behind that field while people go to red/blue alliance sides...
 It might even be worth it to sit behind the field to watch the carts and call defensive autonomous impeding on them... (no joking reference intended, of course)  -q
