No Longer a Rumor - Rumble will rock this summer!!

don't be fooled.. the rumors were true.. after a little work.. BostonFIRST will be holding it's first production mid-august..

However, Rumble 2000 will be Rumbling Somewhere Else.. in Clinton Massachusetts (FYI - event has NOTHING to do with team 126.. this is BostonFIRST).. same traditions.. with a dash of new taste and some unique twists.. adding a little fun to late summer..

Unfortunately.. due to location.. teams 71, 188, and 192 were not able to be invited back... but their names are atop our list if some of the closer teams were to decline..

Also- we need a little help.. we can't contact teams 155, 173, 177, 178, and 222. Anyone on those teams or knows someone on them.. please let us know as soon as you can!!

We look forward to seeing everyone at Rumble.. and hope your teams can come, or you guys personally to watch (or help!)..

Following is the email sent to invited teams:

Hey FIRSTers...

Something awesome is happening Friday and Saturday August 11th and 12th..
and you and your team are invited to attend..

Rumble 2000 will take place at St. John's Gym in Clinton Massachusetts and
we are looking forward to seeing you there.

As the attached invite and letter describe, we're looking to host 2-days of
summer, robot fun this August in the absence of the typical 'Rumble at the
Rock' held in Plymouth. The same teams are invited and the same rules
apply: no 'official' registration fee and the games will be funded by the
registration donations made by the participating teams.

We know the invitation comes late, but we've been working hard to make this
thing happen.. the only thing left is the support of your wonderful teams in
coming to this competition. The August date was chosen for ease in
planning, and in hopes that teams would have a little rest from these early
summer competitions (many of you we know did/will attend Mayhem, Battlecry,
BOMB, IRI, WMRC..). Plus, it's one last chance before the seniors leave to
give the robots a whirl.. and it's a way to kick off the FIRST spirit for
the new school year..

And seeing as how it's only 2-months away(!), we'll need to hear back from
you as soon as possible. If you are not the decision maker/team leader for
your team, please promptly bring the information to their attention so we
can get a quick response. If you aren't even associated with a team
anymore, we embarassingly made a mistake and would simply appreciate a
response saying so :-)

For those of you whose answer will be 'Yes, let's have a blast..' just drop
a line back here saying so and visit www.bostonfirst.org to fill out your
official registration form.

If your answer will sadly be 'No, we cannot attend', please respond back
here as soon as possible so that we may send invitations to awaiting teams
and visit www.bostonfirst.org can it's a fun place to go to.. and we'll
still love your team anyway...

we look forward to hearing back from everyone!! let's have a blast this
rumble!!
