Congratulations to all of 2016 and all of the other winners!

Incredible that you won a regional with only one year under your belt, living up to the rookie award last year!

Hopefully I can see you guys in atlanta.

Re: 2008 Chesapeake Regional

I just want to say thanks to team 1418 for having faith in us and picking us, and then to 2016 for molding themselves to our strategy perfectly. Taking down the 1, 5, and 3 seeded alliances in 2 matches each is not an easy task.

In my 8 years in FIRST, I think this might be one of the best examples of an "alliance" I've seen yet. The way that the 3 robots complimented each other was something truly awe inspiring.

Good luck in the rest of your competitions.

Re: 2008 Chesapeake Regional

The 2008 Chesapeake Regional once again exceeded my expectations. From a volunteer stance, the competition, other volunteers and teams were amazing and everyone knew what they were doing which made it overall great competition to attend.

Congrats to 11, 1418 and 2016 for winning. I like how 1418 was collecting trackballs and leaving them around for 11 to pick up to do back to back hurdles. That was an excellent strategy on behalf of this alliance.

Also major congratulations to 768 for winning Chairman’s Award. This is a well deserve honor for this incredible team

On a side note, I want to mention that I am very proud of my team; 204, Eastern Robotic Vikings. It was a great competition for the team and being rank from 14th on Friday afternoon and then after all the qualification matches, being rank 20th, it was an amazing feeling to see the team succeed.

Re: 2008 Chesapeake Regional

I would like to offer a combination of thanks and congratulations to 11 and 2016 on behalf of the current members of 1418. (They'd do it themselves, I'm sure, but I don't believe any of them has an account here, which is probably wise, all things considered...) You both had excellent robots and drivers, and I personally chalk it up to our own dumb luck that you weren't picked before we could get to you.

After the tournament, as we were all hanging around our pit trying to convince ourselves we weren't dreaming, someone from 11 came up and said "Thanks so much for listening to us and playing along with our strategy." Team 11, you are quite welcome. Having been on the drive team last year, I know exactly how frustrating it is to get blown off by alliance-mates, and I guess I managed to get that across to this year's team (my constant grousing about two or three specific incidents probably had something to do with that). There were a fair number of good robots out there, but the fact that you guys were good team players, I am certain, was the key to our alliance's success.

So, now on behalf of myself, many congratulations to teams 11, 2016, and of course to my own beloved 1418: you done good.

hehehe, that was me. I really wanted to tell 1418 how much I loved them on and off the field. Awesome people+awesome robots=a winning and fully complimenting alliance.

I really hope you guys are going to the Championships (whatever happens about that). If you need ANY help with anything, please, never hesitate to ask.

Re: 2008 Chesapeake Regional

Teams 11, 1418 and 2016, Congratulations on winning Chesapeake! You all were just too tough for us. Not only did you consistantly put up high numbers, you also played good defense in the finals.

Teams 88 and 888, thanks for joining us on that great run to the finals. Your hurdling got us through some tight matches.

Along the way we had some great matches with 339, 1027, 1418, 1629 and 1618 (and others I just can't remember right now).

C Company, congratulations on winning the Rookie Allstar Award. Mr. and Mrs. Shade have taught you well.

This is the best our team has ever done. We have some great memories from this regional.

I'd just like to thanks the drive teams of 2016 and 1418. You guys were great on and off the fields, and some of the best drivers I've competed with either at Chesapeake or Trenton. See you guys in Atlanta.

Re: 2008 Chesapeake Regional

On behalf of Team 1980, The Brigade, I would like to congratulate the winners, finalists and award winners of the Chesapeake Regional. It was particularly gratifying to see 11, MORT, our alliance partners from Trenton, going to the Game.

I would also like to express our gratitude to team 224 for selecting us as alliance partners. We regret that a mechanical malfunction that disabled our hurdling ability made us decide to withdraw. Until then, along with team 75, I think we were an awesome alliance.

It was also a pleasure to see teams 768, 888, 1727 receive awards. The mentors from these teams shared generously with me when I sought advice from them as a fledgling mentor. It’s not surprising that the teams they mentor are beneficiaries of their wisdom and experience.

Re: 2008 Chesapeake Regional

To all the Chesapeake Teams,

On behalf of the Chesapeake Regional Planning Committee, please let your student volunteers know how much we appreciate how well they represented FIRST at the Chesapeake Regional. The Student Ambassadors, the Student Singers from the US and UK, the Student speakers at the VIP lunch and the students who volunteered in other capacities, made us proud.

FIRST is interested in learning from our experiences using the Student Ambassadors at the Chesapeake Regional. Some regionals use only Chairmans Award winners, others use just FIRST alumni. Our experience has been that we can enlist the help of a wide variety of students and teams, all representing FIRST. With a little coaching, your students helped to explain, first hand, what FIRST meant to them, as only they can do. They have some wonderful stories.

Many thanks!

With respect,
Jenny

Thumbs up Re: Hellooooo from the NE

I would like to thank the Naval Academy for hosting the Chesapeake Regional. I am quite sure that all 60 participants had a great time. I know we, at team 88, had another super time at this regional. Thank you for a job well done, for all the volunteers, their gracious professionalism, the referees and judges. As usual, this is a very high class regional. We enjoyed the great competition from all of the teams and look forward to returning again some time soon.

Congratulations to teams: 11, 2016 and 1418 for their win in the finals. Also, thank you to Team 1111 for picking us along with 888 to make our run to the finals. To all the award winning teams and those who didn't I am quite sure that this will be a very memorable regional for years to come.

May you all enjoy the rest of '08 competitions. Hope to see again soon.

Oh Yeah???? OH YEAH!!!!!

Team 88 TJ2 and MOE
