Off season events in CA for Vex?

Does anyone know of any off season Vex events, FTC or other going in CA this summer? I've got a school I'm helping start a team at next year and would like to work with some of the kids over the summer, maybe enter an event somewhere. If anyone knows, let me know. Thanks.
