Thumbs up Team 191 Mentor Wins NCLC Lewis Hines Award

I just wanted to recognize and congratulate Ron "Not Koko" E. Dukes, our senior team leader for the Xerox /Wilson X-Cats for receiving this rare national honor from the National Child Labor Committee. If you see Ron in the pits at Buckeye and in Atlanta stop by and say hello. We are so proud of Ron as a leader, mentor, and friend throughout all these years since the founding of our team in 1992. He has touched so many.

"The Lewis Hine Award honors ten unheralded Americans and several better known leaders for their unique contributions to the essential job of helping children and youth move towards self sufficient and satisfying adulthoods."

Ronald Dukes joins some previous famous winners such as Oprah Winfrey, Harry Belafonte, Hillary Clinton, Charles Schultz(Peanuts Cartoon) and Michael Bolton.

Ronald E. Dukes, a project manager for software development at Xerox Corp’s Webster campus, has been named a recipient of the Lewis Hine Award from the National Child Labor Committee.

Dukes, of Rochester, is being recognized for his work as a team leader with an extracurricular robot-building team in the Rochester City School District.

The award, given to people for their work on behalf of the education or welfare of children, is named after the photographer who documented child labor in the early 20th century.

In case you don't know, Ron is the guy you all keep mistaking for me.
He was on the X-Cats back in '92 and served a few years on the team. He took a few years off and returned in the new millennium to lead the X-Cats currently.
Congratulations Ron!
