SolidEdge (by Unigraphics) Available to FIRST Teams

FIRST Friends,

We TechnoKats are going to do something that your team may want to do also. Check this out:

SolidEdge is a CAD program that is aimed at designing machines. I've checked it out, and it is a very nice program. Also, it looks and acts much like AutoDesk's new 'Inventor' software... which is very cool also. The really nice thing about SolidEdge is that it reads many different types of CAD files. It easily reads AutoCad and UG files... which is very nice.

In order to Run SolidEdge, your PC must have a MINIMUM of: 300 Mhz processor & 128 GB of RAM.

Anyway, SolidEdge is eager to get into the FIRST fray, and they are offering their software at a fairly sweet deal:

We are going to pay $1,000, and get enough seats for our entire team. This even means that students, engineers, and teachers can take this CAD program and use it on their home computer.

The gentleman that is offering this to our team also wants to offer this deal to ANY OTHER FIRST TEAM!

Here is his info:
Fred Goeckel

fwgoecke@ugsolutions.com

So, if you're interested, send Fred a note. You won't be able to get in touch with him until Aug. 14th (vacation).

I will have more info about SolidEdge with me at the Forum.

I have no alterior motive in advertising this deal... I just think that it is a good deal to get this nice CAD package.

Regards,
Andy Baker
