Turbo? Sounds cool
Team 573's best was 9 laps at Pittsburgh, our robot goes 19 ft/s. It is not just a racecar, but can knock balls off the rack too.

Any tips for our driver?

A nice one that I can put out there from experience...

Don't get dehydrated 10 mins before your next match. Not the best thing to happen. After that I drank like 2 bottles between 5 mins before and 5mins after that match.

Re: Number of laps

tanmaker, im pretty sure if we all agreed to take off the poker you and our robot would be gaining 2 or 3 more laps. thatd be a drop of bout 15 lbs or so. and i think we might have to try and convince our team to do that. that would allow us to reach our full potential of 23 ft/s if not more

Re: Number of laps

we did 7 at the most, but we normally did like 5 or 6 per match.

Re: Number of laps

We had 9 laps durring one of our qualification matches at the West Michigan Regional. According to our scouts that was the most any team had in West Michigan. We may have got more in finals, but I think we stoped counting. We could have got more but we shifted our focus from lapping to defense on the opponents balls.

Re: Number of laps

I was the Scorekeeper at Seattle. In teleoperated mode, in a match with all six robots on the field, the highest number of laps was nine, by Team 1318. Most robots did 4-6 laps per match. I've excluded practice matches, hybrid mode ( where 1318 did very well, too), and those where there were fewer than six robots on the field. It's lame to brag about high score or most laps in a match with missing 'bots. IMO. YMMV.

Re: Number of laps

At the Kansas city regional a few days back I saw team 2560 do 12 laps in a elimination round. I didn't see much of 1986 though, they were very fast.
