winzip

whenever i open a file from winzip it shows up as a bunch of numbers on notepad. why is that?

Your computer has associated all .zip extensions with notepad. Go to "My Computer" then select "Tools" from the pull down menu and then "Folder Options" then go to the "File Types" tab and scroll down to ZIP in the list and once you have that selected click the "Change" button near the bottom and then select Winzip from the window that pops up and that should reassociate the extension with winzip from notepad.

Do you have winzip? You can also just reinstall it and it should take care of the file association.
