Re: scoring problems

The scorekeeper's display includes both the automatic lap counting and the referee lap counts. The total used in calculating the score is the referee count -- not the auto count. To be honest with you, I don't even know if the lap totals displayed on the audience screen used the auto or ref lap counts. I was too busy to pay much attention. The teams seemed satisfied as long as the totals were right in the final score. In Seattle, we didn't use the auto counts for anything -- Fred's word was Law. At the regionals there two referees at the end of each Overpass, each with an electronic box. What do you think they are doing? |

Re: scoring problems
I dont think that the flag should sit that high off the ground any way because the overpass can easily rip off the flag

Re: scoring problems
Funny, I haven't seen ANY flags come out on impact with the overpass. They seem to disappear after robot contact sometimes, though.

Re: scoring problems
they still should not be that high off the ground just because of that fact those flags hit pretty hard though

Remember, the GDC told us where to place the flags this year. They made sure that they would clear the overpass. They tried to keep them from popping out. They still do. It's still better than last year and the year before. |

Re: scoring problems
Dang man I can't possibly say how many times our flag was ripped off and/or disconnected therefore giving us scores that were wayyy off. One time our robot stripped the flag pole because our popper got a hold of it and ripped it off and twisted it. Idk how that happened, none the less we lost quite a few rounds because of A: Alliance penalties or B: flag pole problems. And may I mention that this years game was extremely limited, with penalties and small playing areas, but that's just me. I remember when my brother was in FRC in 2004-2005 it was alot rougher play and more exciting games. It's ok though I had lots of fun and learned alot which is the whole purpose.
