Re: flyakiteosx
i want to join the darkside -> it's just out of my price range
but seriously i wouldnt install flyakiteosx, it wont work with vista, 64 bits systems, and if it doesnt work you have to do an annoying system restore' and there;s one thing i hate about the mac, instead of the minimize, maximize and X symbol theres those three coloured buttons |

Leopard is only like $100, that is like half the price of vista. Who cares about the yellow, red, and green stoplight buttons. Command W, Q, and M are all you need . Also expose is so much better than alt-tab making OSX's window management so much better than Window'sLast edited by Chris27 : 04-04-2008 at 16:57. |

Re: flyakiteosx
Ok first of all, Leopard is $129. And I have used Flyakyte before. I was impressed with the likeness of it compared to OSX (10.4 btw). It got a little annoying after a while as it took a lot of processor power. I ended up uninstalling it from my computer except for the flurry screensaver which is just plain awesome. The best part about it is that if you find something you don't need/want, you can uninstall it. Oh and I just remembered, you have to have winblinds installed for it to work to it's full potential.

If you are looking to install a better looking operating system rather than just looking for a nice skin then you are much better off looking at various linux distros rather than looking at mac os. Most are free and serve as a great way to learn more about your computer. |

Well Mac's use the same motherboard chipsets, the same processors, the same graphic cards, the same ram, the same optical disks, about the only different thing about Macs vs PC's is that Macs boot off of EFI while PC's still use BIOS. With similar hardware, a PC running OSX will have the same performance as an apple computer running OSX. Last edited by Chris27 : 05-04-2008 at 12:19. |
