friendliest team- 313, ford bionic zebras
best offensive match- 47, chief delphi (yeah!)
best defensive- 469 Las Gurillias (hopefully i got that right...this team put their whole robot on the line to prevent the opposition from scoring... awesome job guys!)
girls' matches winners- team 5, alcoa-fujikura and melvindale high school 'RoboCards', Team 123 New Venture Gear and Hamtramck High- CosmoForce
FIRST SEED- Team 5, Alcoa-Fujikura, Melvindale High the 'RoboCards'
Most Photogenic- 235, Motown Live Wires with 'Sparky' (that robot is gorgeous!!)
finalists- team 301- Probots, 235, Motown Live Wires
and 469 Las Gurillias
Champions- Team 5 (yet again!!) The robocards, Team 1 the Juggernauts, and Team 68 T3!!

The trophies were beautiful, the game was well-done, the food was good and I had a great time. Oh yeah, DR. JOE made an AWESOME pit announcer. Thanks to everyone. You guys made this awesome.

-Erin

Wow! Erin you are quick and accurate.

The stragety that Team #1 used in the last match caught the other team off guard. Instead of scoring and hanging they scored and ran block so the other team could not score. It worked GREAT! Was this Justin or Mac????

Hey, did you see Chief Delphi Hang. I will try to post a picture for all to see. What a sight!

Remember this event next year. Sue Krussell and crew did a super job.

Thanks Sue..... a true FIRSTER.

Mr. Martus,

I think that Justin does all the planning ahead for that stuff....

And yes, not only did I see you guys hang but I saw you speed your way onto a safe position at the top of the ramp. I was astounded and mystifyed! Great way to retire a GREAT robot.

And yes- thanks to Sue Krussel (who I finally got to meet today!) For being such a fundemental part of the great event. Everything was on time, hardly any noticable glitches, and the trophies were UNBELIEVEABLE.

Thanks for everything, everyone. You have made my last year a blast.

-Erin

Congrats to all the winners!

I gotta say, I'm glad the 2000 season is over, and I will be enjoying my 9 day vacation, before we pick up parts for the CDI. (I must be nutz).

I was standing next to the Juggy team, talking to the coach, who's pretty funny (of course us old guys entertain ourselves pretty easily - a sign of old age) And I remembered that if I ever had a chance I wanted to met Erin, who posts a lot, and who I thought would be a pretty neat guy.

I met Erin. Erin ain't a guy. Erin is a major league BABE fellas.... Smart, too.

Sam

First of all, thank you to all the teams who showed up at our litle school yesterday and to all the judges/refs/announcers/crew, etc...you all did a wonderful job.

Secondly, I wanted to share a cute comment I heard from a middle-school-aged boy yesterday at the competition. This boy was sitting with some of his friends right by the field, and as I was helping remove our robot after a match, I heard him say to his friend excitedly, 'This is better than BattleBots!' And to think that this was only at a small invitational...it made me happy.

Janna

I want to thank the Academy and...(sounds almost like an Oscar acceptance so far)...Ford Motor Co. for a job well done. I had concerns when I walked in the door Saturday and saw the size of the pits and the seating capacity in the multi-purpose room, but you know: it just didn't matter! It goes to show what hard work and careful organization of some dedicated people can accomplish. In fact, this was my favorite Invitational in many ways: it had a real cozy feel to it, a great set of announcers (esp. Joe/Woodie), gutsy refs (although they made some tough calls against my team), incredible trophies, and the matches ran like clockwork! All this doesn't just happen: I know that Sue's hand was at work in all of this and I'm happy that everything went so well for her, the Robohamas and Ford Motor Co.

The competition was awesome, congratulations to the robahama's and ford teams for pulling off a great day!
This was a great way to introduce new team members to the idea of FIRST. I know our new members are almost as excited as the seasoned veterans!

I noticed there was a little mistake in the list of finalists posted, they were actually teams...
249 Bulldogs
469 Las Guerrillas
301 Probots

This was a great way to wrap up last year!

Julie
