Hopefully this means, "During the heat of competition, someone may say something disrespectful about an opponent on the field."

That I can understand: "That %(&#% just tipped us!" While they'd never call the team a name to their face, it wouldn't be unexpected that it might slip out. This might be a good reason for not publicizing alliance zone conversations.

That's what I thought he meant as well. I can see a number of things being said in the heat of the moment that would never be said directly to that team or any other.

One of the many things that popped into my head (along with the one Gary posted)
"Leave them alone, they can't do &%@$."

I would never say this to anyone (even on my own team) off the playing field, but I can imagine myself saying it to my drivers or other drivers while coaching if they were playing defense on a robot that was not the top priority. If I tried to think of a way to say this in GP terms the match might be over by the time I said another word.

Re: mic on coaches?

I think this would be a great idea. If it can't be taped then it should be left unsaid. Vulgarities have no place in FIRST. It doesn't matter the situation. I don't care if you lost in the last second. I don't care if your robot just broke in half. It doesn't matter. There is still no reason to curse. It is just unnecessary and outright rude.

With that being said, I think it would be interesting to hear what the opposing alliance was saying throughout the match.

Re: mic on coaches?

I was mic'd in CT.
I totally forgot about it until I was back in the pits.
