Re: Galileo Division 2008
Can you say Dream Team!
254, 330 and 1114. I think by far and away the best team combo out there. I think your going to need three hurdlers, that way if a bot goes down your still in the match, you just can't make up the difference making laps. Other great combos? |

Standard dream team: 1114/*insert your team here*/any hurdler. You hope that'll happen. Or, 1114/hurdler/other robot that complements them, hurdler or no. |

Re: Galileo Division 2008
any of the following teams instead of any of the named above, but 1114, still makes an equally awesome alliance.
217 25 103 39 40 1717 and a few more i'm forgetting here =] |

Re: Galileo Division 2008
I know everyone wants to dance with 1114. But with such a deep field does seeding number one give a disadvantage? I am thinking being in the 5 or 6 spot is the best.

Re: Galileo Division 2008
Depends on your goal. Some teams will get disappointed if they don't play in the finals.

Re: Galileo Division 2008
I think hybrid mode and the ability of the alliance to be able to cross lines without obstructing your partner's track will be huge. I can easily see alliances putting up 50-60 points in autonomous. If the robots in an alliance cannot avoid one another, then this number could be decreased immensely. Alliances that have RoboCoaches stearing the robot during hybrid could benefit immensely.
If you can outscore your opponents by 30 points in autonomous, that will put a lot of pressure on your opponents...especially in such a competitive division. |

Re: Galileo Division 2008
I am proud to say that I will in fact be making it to my 7th straight championship event...not with team 125, nor team 11...but with one of 125's rookie teams, this year they won rookie all-star in boston, and needed some engineering support, so I will be repping the 2423 down in atlanta...go KwarQs!

Re: Galileo Division 2008
There are 7 regional champions (captain and first pick) that played together. That's more then double any other division. Should make alliance selections interesting.
LA: 330, 1717 BAE: 121, 40 NJ: 103, 25 St Louis: 148, 217 Detroit: 469, 217 Peachtree: 1319, 343 Seattle: 1983, 2046 In addition, the entire LA and BAE alliances are together. |

i would like to know what the scouters here are looking for. i know that the main thing i am looking for is a defensive robot, b/c the hurdlers are usually easy to spot out. just trying to find other's opinions ![]() EDIT: whoop whoop! 343rd post!! Last edited by cziggy343 : 10-04-2008 at 13:42. |

Re: Galileo Division 2008
I got the teamlist in an email (which I read on my phone) yesterday, and I did a double-take. I didn't think it was real, because the teamlist just seemed too good to be true. I can't wait!
